A new website for a project with future prospects.
In collaboration with research centers, universities, and public environmental authorities in ten European countries, the GFZ Helmholtz Centre Potsdam has launched a project that promotes sustainability and quality of life in cities. As the national center for research on the solid Earth, the GFZ Potsdam brings together comprehensive expertise in the fields of physics, mathematics, geology, mineralogy, and many others. From this, they develop a sound understanding of the Earth's systems and processes and strategies for addressing climate change and its effects.
Limited budget? No problem
For the GFZ's current research project, wegewerk was commissioned to implement the English-language project website for Net4Cities. To this end, we set up a WordPress website that, despite a limited budget, is equipped with numerous features and offers intuitive user guidance. Funded by the European Union, the website primarily provides information to the eleven partner cities of Net4Cities and the partners in the Net4Cities Consortium.
A project for the future
When the project began, the Net4Cities logo had already been established. Building on this, we developed a vibrant color scheme and web design. Numerical elements, illustrations, and an animated header complement the design. An interactive map provides an overview of the ongoing research projects. Publications on the projects are added as they progress and will continue to be expanded by the GFZ in the future. An interface connection to the newsletter distribution system allows the GFZ to provide information about the latest news.
In a short period of time, wegewerk has created an appealing website for a project with a promising future.
