Early integration of social aspects.
We implemented the Climate Policy Social Check for the Öko-Institut, an interactive TYPO3 module that helps stakeholders assess climate and environmental measures for social acceptance, fairness and motivation as early as the conception phase. Unlike traditional assessment tools, this tool is not primarily intended for comparing finished measures, but rather provides guidance while proposals are still being developed. This allows social factors to be taken into account from the outset.
Target group: Politics, administration and civil society.
The Society Check is aimed at anyone who develops climate and environment-related measures, especially users with little time or expertise in the social aspects of climate protection. This includes local authorities, climate advisory boards, political groups, civil society associations, initiatives, larger organisations and research institutions.
Areas of assessment and procedure.
Test factors for evaluation.
The tool examines key factors that are important for the acceptance of climate protection measures, the sense of justice and the motivation to participate. Users answer short multiple-choice questions and receive a clear assessment of the possible social impacts after each answer. At the end, the tool summarises the results and provides recommendations on how to build on strengths and improve weaknesses. It is not a question of right or wrong answers, but rather of consciously and thoughtfully designing measures.
A traffic light system helps to illustrate this.
Intuitive user guidance and feedback.
The module enables low-threshold, interactive use: users can select relevant test aspects and receive direct feedback, supported by an easy-to-understand traffic light system. Results can also be downloaded as PDF files for documentation or internal sharing.
Lean TYPO3 solution for the company check.
Technically, we integrated the company cheque as a slim HTML module into the Öko-Institut's existing TYPO3 website. The design we created complies with the customer's corporate design specifications, while we carefully integrated all content provided by the customer. Within just a few weeks, we created a practical and user-friendly TYPO3 solution that effectively supports political decision-makers and civil society actors in developing socially sound and sustainable climate protection measures.
