Industriegewerkschaft Metall (IG Metall) Tour planning made easy: a booking tool for the IG Metall Roadshow
A campaign on wheels.
With 2.2 million members, IG Metall is the largest single trade union in the world. It represents the interests of workers, engineers, technicians and office employees across all sectors. Its aim is to improve the working conditions, wages and social security of its members and to strengthen their co-determination rights.
IG Metall launched the roadshow to engage with employees directly on site. At the heart of the campaign are two trucks that travel to locations throughout Germany. They drive directly to companies or marketplaces and promote IG Metall's causes in a striking manner. The trucks are equipped with various stand and advertising materials, depending on the occasion, for example for current collective bargaining rounds, specific industries or the topic of pensions. On site, the trucks serve as a central point of contact for discussions, information materials and various participatory activities.
The roadshow is organised jointly by the IG Metall offices and the central tour planning department. The preparation is complex: dates must be found, locations approved, set-up and dismantling organised, and fees clarified.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly, we have developed a digital booking tool. It simplifies the planning steps and creates transparency: all branches can see at a glance in the calendar when which trucks are already reserved or available for booking. Individual enquiries can be made using a dynamic form.
You can enter the start and end times of the event, describe planned activities, select the desired truck equipment and provide additional information about the location and schedule. The central tour planning department can manage and confirm enquiries, assign trucks, or ask questions. In addition to statutory rest periods and days off, the system also shows where each truck was last located so that the nearest vehicle can be assigned as a priority. All in the spirit of sustainability.
